Join us for a six-week guided psychology-led educational support group for parents and guardians seeking to develop child-focused relationships in the midst of high-conflict co-parenting.
Roberta Eisen, M.Ed, LPC, NCC, and Carly Blackstone, PsyD, co-founders of the D.C. Children’s Institute (DCCI), are pleased to offer a guided psycho-educational support group for parents and guardians in challenging co-parenting situations. Each week, we will explore a mix of educational and supportive co-parenting themes that can help participants build and maintain healthy child-focused co-parenting relationships.
This six-week series will inform and refocus individuals on their children’s needs by teaching more effective coping and communication skills designed to lower conflict. Facilitated by two professionals with knowledge and experience in the world of family court and mental health,
this group will teach parents skills to:
- Become more child-focused and more prepared for possible court appearances as their families navigate change.
- Learn that working with someone you have had a hard time getting along with is possible when you have the skills and strategies to do so.
- Recreate a better understanding for children so they can experience the benefits of both parents working together.
- Learn more effective and less reactive communication skills.
